March 2023: #ItsLarrysTurn with Hockey4Youth - $325 Raised
On March 13, 1948, Larry Kwong aka Eng Kai Geong, a Chinese Canadian hockey player, broke the colour barrier as the NHL’s first player of Asian descent. Larry Kwong’s achievement went largely unacknowledged until recent grassroots campaigns emerged to share Larry’s story. Since then, there have been modest ceremonies, regional awards, and news reports recognizing Larry. He has, however, never been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
As Asian involvement in the sport of hockey continues to grow in North America and beyond, it’s Larry’s turn to receive the recognition he deserves. An induction will ensure that his contribution is never forgotten. It's only fitting that the long overdue induction occurs in 2023. March 13, 2023, marked the 75th anniversary of Larry’s NHL debut; June 17, 2023, is the day Larry would have turned 100. Let’s give Larry his turn before the past is forgotten.
50% of proceeds from the sales of #ItsLarrysTurn clothing will benefit a Hockey 4 Youth program in Calgary, Alberta in Larry Kwong's honour. Launched in 2015, Hockey 4 Youth’s mission is to increase social inclusion for new Canadian (newcomer) and high-priority youth through free ice hockey and T.E.A.C.H programs. Since 2015, Hockey 4 Youth has worked with over 600 children and youth from 38 countries of origin.

July 2022: Nazem Kadri Foundation - $82,267.50 Raised
Nazem Kadri is the definition of perseverance. After an incredible season, he fully deserved to hoist Lord Stanley this summer. We're happy to have connected with the designer of the "Too Many Men" T-Shirt that Kadri wore during the championship parade. Upon the shirt he wore going viral on social media, we knew we had to help get it out there to fans and we did just so. We've teamed up with Nazem, Adrienne (@guffychan) and pledged to donate 50% of proceeds from all sales to the Nazem Kadri Foundation, a foundation that focuses on giving back and raising awareness for Mental Health.

June 2021: Hockey Cares Project - $3,800 Raised
When we found out that Ethan Bear of the Edmonton Oilers was a victim of racism from fans after his team was eliminated from the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs, we were very disappointed with this group of hockey fans and immediately called on these fans to be better. In addition, we created an unofficial "Bear" design using cree syllabics to help raise money for Hockey Cares, an amazing project by True North Aid which aims to build relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people through hockey. The project also provides Indigenous youth with post-secondary opportunities and support systems. Through the proceeds of the Bear T-Shirts and Hockey Lace Hoodies over the four-week period, we were able to raise an astonishing $3,800 to support their project. In addition, over 100 T-Shirts were sent to the families in Oakville who will be sharing the T-Shirts with their friends in Attawapiskat. If you wish to learn more about their project, please click here. Donation details can be found below.

December 2018: Kenya Hockey Donation - $1,050 Raised
With only enough players to create one team, the Kenya Ice Lions had never played a game against an opponent. That was until the team came to Canada to compete against NHL superstars Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon. Team Kenya is looking to take the game of hockey a step further but are in need of some major assistance. To help our friends over in Kenya, we pledged to donate all proceeds from Kenya Hockey clothing sales to help the team pay for expenses incurred such as equipment, rink fees, training, licensing and insurance. Not only will this spread the great game of ice hockey in Africa, but will also contribute to the benefits that team sports can have in someones life. Kenya hopes to bring their hockey team to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics where they would compete against other hockey teams around the world. Together we raised $1,050 to help assist the Ice Lions with the journey to become a contender at the 2022 Olympic Games. The final donation was made to the Official Kenya Go Fund Me Page.
